The night couldn't have been more perfect. Not only was this a great High School reunion but a sisters reunion for me as well. I loved seeing everyone and really enjoyed catching up with Randy, Barry and Robert. The night went by way too fast. Loved seeing everyone. A special thanks to Ave and the committee for an unforgettable party!

First, our prayers and thoughts are with Diane Fellis-Springer and your family.... I am sorry that you had to end such a Spectacular weekend that way. Next, I am trying to get a hold of Javier Melendez - Class of 84'. I didn't get to talk to you that much, but my brothers would really like to see you again after all these years. Please contact me if anyone knows how to get a hold of him. Thanks, Elaine

comment by Yvette 'Perez' Becker '80'

This goes out to "Becky" who says she and her old friends plan a future get together and hopes they can keep it going. Well I know you can! My sister (MKHS class of 1967) reunited with many of her friends at her 30th back in 1997. Almost 10 years later, they still meet regularly several times a year. She really looks forward to and enjoys their get togethers. Hope you gals have a great time and start a new tradition for yourselves!

Your prayers are greatly appreciated, fortunatly our home was not in harms way, but we are not to far from the fires. There was a voluntary evacuation . The kidos were sent home from school for the whole week because the smoke was so thick. You had to stay indoors, but still could smell the smoke it was so bad. How sad, my prayers go out to those who lost there homes.

Hello everyone have been extremly busy and my Mother also had not been feeling well, so have not been on this site for a while. Wishing you and your families a very happy and safe HALLOWEEN. My prayers go out to those and their families, who are in the areas of the fires in California.

comment by Sherri Mora-Bass '83

Hi Everyone! Most of you know that I relocated to California after hurricane Katrina wiped out our city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I loved being so close to the wonderfully unique city of New Orleans. Wednesday, August 29 is the second anniversary of hurricane Katrina. I'm not asking you to donate anything. What I am asking, is that for your next vacation you consider visiting New Orleans. Tourism is one way to get the city back on its feet. You can even e-mail me for suggestions on what to see and do...and especially where to EAT!!! Laissez Le Bon Temps Rollez! (Let the Good Times Roll!)

Correction on Reunion Cruise:  it should read a "3-DAY weekend cruise" - Friday to Monday (instead of 3-weekend, boy that would be nice, 3 weekends!)Since the details of event have not been posted yet, email me and I'll email you a word doc with all the who, what, when, where, how much, etc.Anita

What a fantastic time. Always fun to get to know new people each time. Like my slide partners, Debi, Julie & David. How about that cab ride home?? Desiree I do have some good pictures for you, sorry about being on your hubby's back, haha. Laurie, you were a riot, Michelle really missed a great time. The cabanas were a hit and made it bearable to hang at the pool all day. The beach party would be a great way to end the summer. I am sure everyone is in agreement that if Ave is up to it we are all there for Vegas 08.

comment by Desiree Rocco

Hey folks. Anyone planning on "Gate Crashing" , I highly suggest otherwise. My security guy's do not play. They are legit and are only there to make sure things go smoothly. Please don't make a spectacle of yourself and get embarassed. The pool area will have to do. Sorry folks, plenty of time has been given. Let's all have a good time.

Cathy, to comment on about scoring our first pack of cigarettes, I thought I was in the clear and so cool about it till my mom found out where I scored them (the 7-11 on Garvey and New Ave) she took me inside the store and told the clerk I was only 16 and he is not to sell me anymore.. talk about being BUSTED!! I laugh about it now... but then I was mortified!!! The silly things we did huh?

comment by Cathy Luna '81

Lana, thank you so much for the compliment! That's very sweet coming from someone who got voted "Best Looking" by the Class of 1980! Both you and your sister Linda looked gorgeous at the reunion! Yes, I remember Natalie. The pet shop on Garvey was Turner's Pet shop. I would tag along when my sister bought rabbit and duck pellets. We also took tap and ballet lessons at Bonnie Freeze Dance Studio. Wasn't it called Bonnie Jean's before Bonnie Freeze? Next to Turner’s Pet Shop was the European Delicatessen owned and run by Sheila Boecherer, Heidi Boecherer's (Class of ’81) mom. Then next to that was an “old ladies” beauty shop, where they would sit under the big chair hair dryers with rollers on for hours, let's see, next there was Alexander's Barber Shop, owned and operated by Mike Gallego’s (Class of ’80) dad. Does anyone remember across the street, next to Garvey Hardware and the Salvation Army store was Orange Julius? I used to think that was such a treat. Hey and let's not forget riding our bikes to the great MP hangout (at Garfield & Newmark) Taco Bell and 31 Flavors!! Sherri, I totally remember Belle n Beau!! Before I worked there in ’79, I scored my first pack of cigarettes from the vending machine in the dark hallway just outside the restaurant!

comment by Linda Rawoew-Minasian '78

Hey Carol, thanks for the compliment, but it's Lana who has the black hair...you're pretty cute too.
