Hi there class of 1967. I'm still living in Alhambra and hope to hear from some of my old friends. Sorry guys, more than likely I won't be able to attend the reunion this year because of a family reunion which will be about the same time. For those that are attending have a great time. I am looking for Anna Paszkowski and Margie Sutherland.

I have been trying to post in the Alumni News but still no luck. It wouldn't even recognize my pass and at times just freeze or timed out. Maybe this fire is realllly slowing down servers around here. So I'll just post here. I have posted online two clips from the 20th reunion that I took in 2000. I just want to post the link for the class of 80. Is it okay to do it here?

What an Amazing afternoon it was at the Sapphire! The MK Alumni Band is AWESOME!!!! Was supposed to leave earlier than I did but who can walk out with Robert Ysais singing Whole Lotta Love!

comment by Suzi Bohne

BEACHES! I totally saw that ad during the game, and my Dad and I were discussing it and wondering if they just stole the name..but the signage is the original..so there must have been some excitement in that area for a day, huh. We also agreed that the former Kings Drug Store, which is now a Sav-On, is probably the dumpiest one on the face of the earth.

comment by Brenda

Suzi..........OMG Beaches Market?? I havent heard of that place in years. Do you remember Del Mar Foods?? LOL

comment by Joey Caruso

That was simply an incredible and fun weekend. I don't think I have ever experienced anything quite like that in my life and I have seen quite a bit in my time. I started getting a little sad about midnight knowing that it would be coming to an end soon. I really think that the Almighty wanted this event to take place if for nothing else but to have good old relationships put back together. I saw so many different relationships re-established, I saw forgiving, I heard of a wedding proposal, I saw old boyfriends and girlfriends able to laugh about old times. I saw men and women that I was in awe of in school. People that I have known from the time that I was knee high to a grasshopper. What a blessing. We now have an opportunity to continue these valued relationships for the rest of our lives. I did not take any pictures, so I need some help. If any of you would be so kind as to send me your pics. Any and all pics to my e-mail address at jomcso1@netzero.com The character after the jomcso is the number one. Or jamokio@yahoo.com. I would appreciate it as I really had a special time. Love you all

comment by Lana Rawoew

Thank you Ave and everyone involved in making this reunioin happen...It was almost surreal....There were so many people to see and so little time. It seemed everytime you'd realize an old friend was standing in front of you, another would catch your eye...I wish I'd seen all my old friends...(next reunion)! By the way...my sister Linda was in a polka dot dress...P.S. The band was on it! Also Linda and I would love any photos if anyone has them to share...I'll do the same....Love to all!! Just have one more thing to add...Damn! How could so many good lookin peolple be in one place at the same time?

comment by Richard Hart"78

Hi it's me again, well it look's like we need to do this once a year. I also towards the end around midnite, started feeling sad, knowing that the end was coming and it was good, to see so many fellow alumni's all together. The after party in Ave's room 126, was also great and sad as well, knowing that we had all come together for the evening and now getting ready to head back to our other lives. Let's all keep in contact and not let the years pass us by.

Well, I am tired and I need my sleep...Good night to all of you and sorry for the ones that I missed. IT WAS A BLAST.... Because this wasn't no back yard part this time.....HA HA HA HA HA

comment by Ave Hoyos-Capozello '81

I finally arrived home Monday night at 7 p.m. Found 170 e-mails in my in box, cell voicemail was full, and my home message machine light was blinking... So, I guess it was a success. I promise I'll return calls and respond to e-mails soon. Just give me a couple days to get back to you. Lot's of website updates and photos to post. Need to unpack the car, do some laundry, get more sleep, recuperate, etc. REALLY IMPORTANT... I'm not the best at public speaking. I was caught off guard by my friend Janet on Saturday night and wished I could have been a little more eloquent in addressing all of you that night. So I'll share what I wanted to say with you now. You should all be so very proud of yourselves. I wish you could read some of the messages I've received. So many "thank yous" and kudos. You did an amazing thing - you gave people memories they'll treasure for many years to come! Enjoy the moment...it doesn't happen like this that often. XXOXX, Ave

comment by Brenda

For Suzi, im not sure if you remember but thanks for asking me who my guy was "Your husband, your boyfriend or man for the night" We enjoyed the laugh.

comment by Suzi Bohne

Brenda...I did? Was that when you yelled at me for wanting to use the stairs and not the elevator? That was soo f-in funny. Was I carrying a drink? I accept no responsibility for anything I might have said or done during 10 pm-1 am. I am forbidden to drink from now on..per my kids.

comment by Steve Lustro '73

Ave, see your sister's comment. I don't have to be told twice...

comment by Steve Lustro '73

Hey, Matt - I'm with you. Levi's cords and a Hang Ten shirt from Woodruff's on Main Street for me. (I know if Debbie, Sharon or Karen read this, they will nod their heads and laugh.) Hey, I'm old, I want to be comfortable, and that doesn't mean suit and tie, so dressy casual is the order of the day for me. For God's sake, we're at Huntington Beach! I think everyone (well, MOST everyone) has enough sense to save the shorts, cut-offs and flip flops for the beach on Sunday.

comment by Brigitte

Ahhhhhh! Men!

comment by Malena

I say we vote Matt and Steve off the Island! lol And, if BDJ attempts to bring up that Angels Flight stuff again, him too!! Joey, you're safe. I'm a sucker for Wallabe's (even if they are fake!)

comment by Ave Hoyos-Capozello '81

Okay, when did I become the attire police? Ticket broker and travel agent - affirmative. I promise, I won't make fun of anyone wearing jordache jeans, spandex pants, hawaiian shirts, or flip flops. I may not stand next to you for the group photo...but that's just me :) Hey guys, the "dress to impress" reunion happened a long time ago - for most of us. I'm comfortable in dressy dresses (aka "Prom Queen" attire - I remember Lisa G!) but I don't care how anyone else dresses. It's all good! Ave...

comment by Wendy (Rasich) cypert

Well I had these really bitchen gold spandex pants I could wear but Robert Ysais borrowed them in 1980 and I havent seen them since!

comment by Ave Hoyos-Capozello '81

You know...I remember when he wore them for some gig! Scary...I was thinking of those pants when I wrote the message! Ave

I want to thank everyone involved for an awesome party! Kudos especially to Ave, all volunteers and the musicians in the band. Thanks Ave for continuing the music beyond 1:00 at what could be a high cost considering my $11- glass of champagne. My sister and I enjoyed seeing everyone from the mid to late 70's. Missed a few people there - must have been my contacts and the large crowd! Back in SLO til next time.....

comment by Julia (Young) Flood '85

Thank you Ave and all the other volunteers for an amazing time. I actually enjoyed passing out the name badges Sat nite; as crazy as it got I still had a wonderful opportunity to meet folks I never knew at MKHS - different graduating years, etc. I truly hope we'll get this opportunity again!
