Guest Book
Hey, did anyone else see that Dodge truck commercial toward the end of Game 3 of the World Series? Was that actually filmed in the parking lot of Beachs Market at SG & Garvey? (I know there is another one in Downey.)
Ave and the rest of y'all... of course a big ol' thank you for taking sooo much time out of your busy lives to put on this thing. I still can't believe it's over. So, when is the next party?
Just can't wait to see everyone at the reunion,I know it will be a blast.
It sure was a lot of fun, I had a great time seeing and talking with all of you, for those I didn't get a chance to meet, being there were so many of us and after a few drinks, and the great band, that played GREAT, I didn't meet everyone, hope we can do this again soon, just a thought.
Lisa...it's okay. The next time someone asks about planning a reunion - I'm advertising your home phone number and cell info on the website! Just kidding. As long as your enthusiasm and volunteerism kicks in about week two in September - it's all good! XXOXX, Ave!
Had a blast at the meeting Sat. night!Think about it, a cold drink, old friends, and a cruise around Newport Harbor. If you weren't there, you literally missed the boat. People, you don't have to be on a commitee to attend these meetings, but you'll leave having volunteered for something. I did. More important, Class of '73, buy a ticket. I have a feeling your going to regret it if you don't go.Cap't Rick, I looked you up in Classmates; I remember you now. Thanks for a fun time. One more thing; if anyone knows my brother Eric Marquisee'78, give him a holler. He's recuperating from a work accident. Can't make it to party. He's listed below.
I want to say what a pleasure and an honor it was to work on this reunion with so many wonderul people. And to Ave.....you are truly an amazing and generous person. I don't know anyone else who could have pulled off this event! I am looking forward to beginning work on the memory book!
I forgot to mention how wonderful it was to spend time with the "girls" friday night and saturday. You are an amazing bunch and I hope we can stay in touch. Ave, I sent you a personal note but I want to mention once again how awesome you are and how happy I am that we are friends after so many years. As the fog is lifting I am going through so many emotions about this past weekend and feeling nostalgic as well as a little melancholy, but overall overwhelmed by the fact that I am lucky to still be here on this earth to experience such events!
How could I forget John Castillo in the band. Sorry John. I got about 6 hrs. sleep the whole weekend.
TO THE BAND~ YOU ROCK!!! John Avila~ You are amazing! Robert Ysais~ Couldn't get enough "Born on the Bayou" Perry, Oscar, Tom and the rest of the guys ~ Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this event ROCK ON!
A special thank you to those of you who pitched in at the last minute.....Danielle, Carol, Mark G. ....it was greatly appreciated.
Wow! What a great event! Ave you are awesome, it was great working with you during the months leading up to the reunion. I am truly amazed by your event planning skills. It was so great to see old friends and familiar faces: Kezia, Lisa, Dana, Veronica, Ave, Gina, Grant, Mike, Kim, Martha, Bobby, Donny, Greg (at the beach on Sunday), Perry, Karen, Natalie and so many more! Met some new alumni as well. I don’t know if I can wait 5 years to see everyone again….it was soooo much fun!
WOW!! WHAT A BLAST!! I don't remember the last time I had that much fun, but that's old age for you. Seriously though, that reminded me of every house/ backyard party I ever went to rolled into one. The band ROCKED!! Can you imagine if they'd had more time to rehearse?! I want to see them at Barnes Park. I agree with David Miranda about the ladies...WHEW!! Everybody looked great.A BIG Thanks to AVE and her crew. I only wish I'd met up with more of my class mates. But I met plenty from other years. Hope to hear from everyone I met.
WOW!!! What great party. Ave you and Brian did an amazing job on this event. Special thanks to all the volunteers who came thru in the last minute without hesitation and helped out... Special thanks to all the Parents that came out an volunteered the time on a Saturday night to be with all of us..... As for you "GUERRERO SISTERS" things would not have been the same....Bob and I had a blast and it was great meeting all of his friends from elementary school to MKHS. Also, Larry thanks to you and your group of guys for keeping all of us "Borrachos" under control.... Hope everyone who attended this event made it back home safe. Don't forget to share all your photos from this great party with everyone... MKHS Multi-Year Reunion will be one for the books that is for sure.....
Monday, Sept. 25th at 10:30 a.m. Kezia, Cathy and I are sitting in room #126 of the Hilton sipping some coffee and going over our memories of Saturday. Wow - did everyone look amazing! What a great group of volunteers - that was a big job to pull off - and you did it! And, WHAT ABOUT THAT BAND!!! There's so much I want to say and so many of you to thank - but I'm still a little foggy from the last two weeks of prep and 3 days of revelry. I will update page one of the website tomorrow when I'm back home and more clear-headed! Brian DeJesus & Mike Lucero - you both walk on water!!!More tomorrow...
OK, now that it's been said (thanks Martha) Why was it so frickin hot in the main ballroom? I know there were alot of people in there, but damn, I felt like a Ram's fan at a Raider home game. I think that's why I stayed in the upper ballroom the majority of the night. I know I need to lose weight, but let me try on my own first lol. Or maybe it was just all those sexy keppelites making the room so hot, whaddya say guys...
I have to put my 2 cents in - ok, more like a quarters worth. I had such a BLAST this weekend, starting with Friday night and the ladies. This was truly the party of the decade. To be able to catch up and see old (and new) faces all at the same time, it will never happen again, at least not like this time. There was soooo much pre-planning going on to make thie the event it turned out to be. I personally spoke to people who I didn;t even know towards the end of the evening to get a feel of what people were thinking and I basically heard the same thing over and over and over again. "It was hot in the main ballroom, but it was worth it. I had a blast!" I also wanted to thank everyone who did way more than their fair share. When I asked, ok ok told, people I needed help, NO ONE hesitated in doing what was needed to be done. I am truly grateful to those of you - I don't want to mention names but I think you all know who you are......THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
WOW- GREAT PARTY!!! I'm still a little hung over and it's Monday morning:). (Damn that Three Generations Tequila-lol). To Ave, Martha, Cathy, Gina and all the rest of the reunion committee, you not only have my thanks, but also my total respect. What you guys did that night is nothing short of amazing. EVERYONE had a great time, and everything seemed to go on without a hitch. I'm only sorry I didn't get to spend more time with everyone. All the keppelites looked beautiful. Its true that for some beauty is ageless. D.J. Dave- Great job buddy!!! Oh, by the way Dave, you left your thong under my bed, so I gave it to Larry Molina to give it back to you LOL!! Just Kidding bro. I hope that 1982's 25th reunion will be able to stand up to this one. I'll be the first in line to volunteer. Before I go just gotta say, Larry Landless- Cool Look and Malena-you looked great. See Ya all...God Bless
On a very personal note, Bri, Georgina, Brian, Malena, Carol, Darryl, Cathy, Gina, Dave, John - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I have really amazing friends and I knew I could count on you guys......Larry Landless - your "boys" did an incredible job - not even 1 fight the whole night!!!! I am honored to have been a part of such an amazing event that will be talked about for a very long time to come.....Ave, when do you want to start planning our 30th??!!! Everyone, please keep in touch. My email is posted.
What a blast! Ave, thank you so much for organizing this event! You and all the volunteers did such a great job. It was great to reconnect with old friends. Looking forward to the next reunion!

What a Party! It was GREAT seeing everyone, from those in my old neighborhood in MP to all the crazy friends & people I hung out with in my Keppel years, you all looked so good! I can't believe it's over. What a night!! Seeing so many friendly faces and feeling like no time had even passed. I want to thank all the volunteers who worked their shift at the registration tables and a special thanks to those who stepped in at the last minute! It was a little hectic but overall things went well. I'm so thankful for all the alumni that attended and supported this unique event. This event was truly filled with Aztec pride!! Can't wait to see all the pictures that were taken~please share!! Take care everyone and please keep in touch!
How embarrassed would the "Gate Crashers" be if Security declined them entry into the event? Hopefully enough so they crash someone else's party. As a paying guest, I hope security enforces entry ID checks so we can all enjoy what we paid for. And, I think Natalie and YPB had a variety of "boy toy" lunch boxes! If only you kept them, you'd be E-Bay Super Stars! :-)
Hey Tony Lomeli, I see you and Eddie are still in tune with one another! Are you still "The Rock" you were back in H.S.? I look forward to seeing you at the reunion!!
I want to thank everyone involved for an awesome party! Kudos especially to Ave, all volunteers and the musicians in the band. Thanks Ave for continuing the music beyond 1:00 at what could be a high cost considering my $11- glass of champagne. My sister and I enjoyed seeing everyone from the mid to late 70's. Missed a few people there - must have been my contacts and the large crowd! Back in SLO til next time.....
what box do I check for a memory book????? Thanks to all for a great time and fond memories of the past.
Ave, Just wanted to say THANKS to you and all who helped for putting it all together. I had a great time. It was fantastic to see old friends and make some new. I hope us old friends find time to get together again. My number is in the book. Connie 75'
I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year. It has been great getting back in touch with so many people from high school. We are truly blessed to have made these connections again. We need to keep them alive in 2007 and always. It's not like every high school has multi-year reunions. That shows how special Mark Keppel alumni people are. Aztecs Forever! Love, Health and Happiness to everyone!
Ooops, forgot to send a special Merry Christmas shout out to some of the people who I got to know again this year or got to know for the first time ever: Martha, Malena, Brigitte, Dave, Marie, Cathy, Gina, Liz, Suzie, Brenda, Sherri, Tony, Mikki, Katherine, Jan, Natalie, Larry, etc. etc. May you all have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hi any '73 classmates. I just ran across the Guest Book. The only '73ers I see are Matt (sorry I don't know you, I'll have to dig out my yearbook) and Steve Lustro (which, of course everyone knows!) Is there anybody else out there? It was fun reading your correspondence. I'm a Garvey person, so remember all the places you mentioned on Valley Blvd. I was a member of Talondi, so got a kick out of story about beverage purchases for a Talondi gathering (we, of course, would never have done such a thing!) Hi to my MKHS/Talondi friends. Anne
I have no idea who you people are but I am ready to PAR-TAY!!! Baby Baby don't say NO! Hook a whiteboy up and take him to Vegas!!!
Phew Brian - I just sent you an e-mail as I watched fire blaze down the charred mountainous regions where I know you live. Keep us informed. JVR
The fires in SCV are scary, but we (brian & michele) are doing fine. HATS OFF to the fire fighters! True Heros!
To all of our alumni living in the fire areas, we hope you are all well and not in harms way. Please let us know how you are when you have a chance. Joey and John Caruso are okay as well as Brian and Michele De Jesus. Waiting to hear from Mark Nakamine.
