On Sunday it might be helpful if we attach our name and year to the back of a beach chair or something. There will be a lot of new faces that won't have name tags. Just a thought.

Ay, Joey. Thanks for the update on Robert & his family. Good thing the earthquake was like 22 miles underground not like Northridge was here. I have half my family living over there, too, but on Oahu. Mahalo..

It gets better...I was speaking with the San Gabriel Tribune this morning about an e-mail I sent to the Features Editor. (Thought if we could get some radio airplay - perhaps a newpaper would be interested in our story too.) The person I spoke with said she recognized my name. Turns out, she's been receiving reunion updates via e-mail and is an alumni from '75! Talk about a small world! Keep your fingers crossed - the more alumni that attend, the bigger the donation we can ultimately make to MK! And, yes, I think we're looking at a mighty fun party!

Hi Everyone

comment by Brian bdj - class '80

OK.... had to past this along. I just had a co-worker come into my office asking me if I went to Keppel because he heard that MKHS was throwing a HUGE reunion this summer. This guy didn’t even go to MKHS...he is a Garfield High Alumni. I’m not sure where he heard it, but my guess it was KBIG (thanks Irma). I just thought it was funny that non-MKHS people are inquiring about our reunion.... Ave, something tells me we are headed for the party of the year!

comment by Matt Marquisee

I need a ride to the Newport Bch. meeting.Anybody in the SGV going? I live in Azusa; right off the 210 Frwy. I'll help out with gas, of course. Email or call: 626-926-2571. It will be greatly appreciated. And YES!, I finally bought my ticket for the BIG SHOW!

comment by bdj

Ave, what are our chances of you posting a small clip from hector of joey, eileen & michael from the cruise meeting? or are you going to make us WAIT until the night of the reunion? joey.. that was TOO funny... dude, you still got it going on the dance floor.

Brian - I wish I could. Especially Mike showing off his smooth moves to "YMCA". Unfortunately, the website has limitations on the size of the file I can post - and this one is 17 minutes long! I'm taking my laptop to the meeting next week so everyone can see the whole show...

Greetings, Suzie asked about our good friend Robert Villegas and his family who live on the Big Island in Hawaii where the earthquake happened. I talked to him Sunday night and he and his family were driving back from a weekend camping trip on the beach. They were concerned about a tsunami. They were yet to see their beautiful beachfront house. I asked him to call if their was bad news. He moved their 12 years ago when the big hurricane hit and his business got rolling (tile and stone construction). Once again he should be blessed with work. Aloha

comment by carol belyeu

I am hoping to go to the homecoming. I am scheduled to work, but I feel a virus coming on that weekend :) . I would like to stay in L.A overnight (I'm in San Diego)so if anyone can accommodate me, I would appreciate it very much.

Ave - thanks for your post about thread hijacking on Classmates. I agree 100% and posted a response in your support. (By now you know I'd do anything for you!) Can't believe someone told you that you were "taking up too much space." Geezers....

comment by Ave Hoyos-Capozello '81

Steve: Hmmm - someone finally saw the message. Thanks for your support! I did post something about my Classmates.com note on the "Welcome" page recently, but I re-thought that decision and deleted it. Didn't want to create negativity about the site based on my opinion. I've seen some interesting comments posted. Some in agreement, some not. Such is life. We all have something to say. I'll have to take a look and see what's been posted recently!

There have been a handful of us that have been able to get together for brunch on a few occassions this past year. The group doesn't have a particular class "Just Friends". We always have a good time, lots of chat and laughter. If anyone would like to join feel free to drop me a line and I can give you the details. It's mostly a brunch type setting, nothing that will take you away from the responsibilities of family for too long. Just a little "down" time. Drop me a line if you want.

comment by Brigitte '82

I happened to be at Charley Browns on Friday with a group of teachers, but unfortunately left before any other alumni got there.......except for Martha and Dave....hope to make it next time........btw Lisa.........go UCLA!!

comment by Ave '81

Brigitte - I knew you'd make it! Eddie Chavarria '81 called me today and asked how it went. I told him I hadn't spoken to you in a couple weeks but that you'd know who was there :) I'll call you later so we can catch up... Ave

comment by Ave '81

There's a group of MK alumni gents that I know of that meet every year - same day, same place, in November - right before the holiday season begins. Some of us MK alum ladies want to know if we can join you this year, or if we should make our own plans? We don't want to crash your party. (Actually, I said I would...!) We're guessing there's a reason it's just been "the boys" - so, we're trying to be polite :) Let us know, will you?

comment by Joey Caruso

Eddie! You know we love you bro. The last message was tongue in cheek concerning you. You know you are part of the evening and you best get your ass down there. We missed you last year.

I\'m not an alumna, but I\'m trying to find one. If anyone from the c/o 1974 lost a class ring a couple years ago, my mother found it. It has no name, but it says Mark Keppel HS and the year 1974. You can contact me via the Mark Keppel HS facebook page.

comment by Dave L. '82

Hey Marie, yes, what a great time we all had.Wouldn't have been a party without you girl. Let's do it again sooner than later... Are we up for a Martini Pajama party? LOL Reunion commitee for '82, count me in.

Can't make it to Vegas(not enough funds), nor can I make it to the Disco Cruise and Sapphire's closing party(still no wheels). But I can make it to Avila's gig in Upland. It's right up the street from my pad. I've only walked by Biacci's; looks kind of small; best to get there early. See ya there!
