Why is it that most of the people involved with the reunion plannings either benefit from the reunion or will benefit in the future from advertising?...for example:  party planners, bar owners, boat owners, band leaders, caterers, etc...just saying...good for you...

comment by Sandra (De La O) Verdugo

Going down memory lane.  This reunion will be awesome.  So let\'s see how life is treating all my class of "74" alumni.  We\'ve survived!

On this 6th Anniversary of foreign terrorist’s attacks on our domestic soil...may we all remember all the Men and Women that have fought for the Freedoms those terrorists were determined to destroy. Never Forget our many Soldiers who continue to fight for democracy throughout the world. Let us also remember and say a prayer to the innocent victims from our great country - United States of America and the many countries represented that day in the WTC Towers, Pentagon and United 93...as Todd Beamer bravely stated that day "Let's Roll"…forever and ever Amen! God Bless America and Us All.

comment by Becky Morales Quinones - 79

I was asked to try to reach out to Diane Fish class of 79 and hopefully connect her with a friend who's trying to re-connect with her. If anyone knows how to get in touch or maybe if she browes this website, she can contact Anna Ledesma @ roychem@earthlink.net I know Ahna would appreciate it. Thanks!

comment by Becky Morales Quinones - 79

It's important that we not forget the men and women who bravely protect this country and just as important that we not take any of the freedom's we have lightly. When given the opportunity to let someone know what they mean to us, tell them so. What happened 6 years ago is proof that it can all change in an instant. So today, on a day that effected each and everyone of us, take a moment to say a prayer for those lives lost and a prayer for Peace. We'll never forget, God Bless you all.

Hey Desiree I took those pictures and I even censored the bad(naughty) ones. LOL Tell your Hubby we know he really enjoyed being the only man around all of us women. Just look at the size of his smile in all those pictures. LMAO I had a great time with you guys remembering all the stupid crazy things we did growing up. Some of those storys need to be left in the past. LOL

comment by Esther "Renee" Rodriguez-Gueits (whew!) Class of '74

I'm with Mark about more activity with alumni from the 70's ...I know those were crazy years, but there have got to more survivors out there somewhere! If you are a survivor...stand up and be counted!!! I am grateful to my sister and this site for having found Donna Pulido-Rhoads. She was and still is a special person to me.

comment by Gloria Lomeli

For those inquiring minds, ha ha, there are 13 Lomeli's (7 girls / 6 boys) and we all graduated from MKHS !! (1961 to 1982) Thanks to all the classmates who are putting this reunion together, I'm sure it's going to be a Blast !! Oh and only 3 of us are attending so no need for another ballroom, that was just way too funny !! How about having the next reunion in VEGAS !!

CORRECTION!! On photo album powder puff 81' pictured, it should be Tony Lomeli that Frank Guzman is setting on his shoulders, NOT Tom Griffen.

Hi Kim, I still keep in contact with Denise Chavez. She lives in Whittier and works at the Costco in Montebello. I told her about the reunion, but she said she didn't go her last two years at Keppel and didn't think she'd know anybody there. Boy, is she wrong. She's doing good though. See Ya... comment by Nanette (MacColl) Los

I remember the merry go round at the shoe store. I loved that store! Used to shop at Britt's with my mom and Newberry's. I moved away so I don't know what is there anymore. How about the little grocery store on Garvey with the pickle barrel?

comment by Dave Lopez '82

am i the only pendejo who never had these Barnes Park Strips? I was hanging out too much with all the disco bisquits at El Loco's on Garvey and Atlantic i guess. I use to see your mom at Fazios Brigitte. Hows that for retro.

comment by Darryl Griffen "80"

Hey Dave, I remember those disco parties at the stables in Rosemead or at the Pico Rivera Sports arena, and then going to El Loco's on Atlantic or to Tommy's in L.A. and buying beer across the street from the Rampart Police Divison, ohhh yeah!!!!

comment by Richard Hart"78

Hey what about the Monterey Park Play Days, those use to be fun, then there was the Halloween canival, that they would also have at Barnes Park. between all the school stuff and the stuff at Barnes Park, there always seemed to be lot's to do. Now do you all remember the first MPK Boys Club, it was in an old house across the street from city hall, before they moved into a nicer building, I think it was around 1970 or 1973.

comment by Marie '82

In response to Mario Escalante's BBQ for the "guys - you know who you are"...I think the girls "we know who we are" should also be invited to the BBQ. I think it would be a blast but really who can host a BBQ that'll bring us all back together like in times past. Gary...still got the Hot Tub??? If it's possible, please count me in! Martha, Letty, Jabber's, Larry, Gary, Mario, Ralph...come on people, let's make this happen!

comment by Kim Molina (Duran) 84'

Marc, Kim, Stacia and Clarissa Molina from the I.E. say, "Hello!" Apologize to those special friends we couldn't keep in touch with in the past 20 years or so......our darling daughters have kept us soooo busy 24/7 w/fast-pitch softball and traveling around the U.S. on planes, trains, automobiles and not to mention on our last dimes and nickles. I guess all in the end it was worth it. One of the dd's got a full-ride scholarship to play in KY, @ MSU! Yeah, a NCAA Div.1 baller!!!!!!!!!!GO STACIA!!!!! See you all in Sept!

comment by Mrs. Carrie Harris Allen

I taught and coached at Keppel from 1976 to 1981. I'd like to hear from any of the basketball players or track team members that played for me, or students that took either Spanish or French from me during that time. If enougn of you are attending, I will make a point to be there. Those days will always provide treasured memories for me as they shaped a large part of my life and inner being. Let me hear from you. I would love to be able to thank each of you in person for what working with such awesome young people taught me!

comment by Henry Macias 83

comment by Diana M. Parra '82

Barnes Park strips secret sauce........hhhhhmmmmm? I have been trying to figure that one out, too. My girls love chili, all kinds. To me, one sauce comes very close to that taste. And that is the yellow can or even the green can of El Patio chili sauce. It's the best tasting sauce so far that I have tried that has come close to it. I don't know? Try it. Tell me what you think.

comment by Brigitte

Before it was Zody's it was Britt's.....anybody elses memory go that far back? How about Western Auto on the other side of the shopping center.......Jerry's shoes with the Merry-Go-Round in the back....or was that Gallenkamp?......

comment by Hector Rios '79

Yeah Ave, I knew the lady at the snack bar at Barns park. She told me the recipe, but i'm sorry I never did write it down. I know It was a very simple recipe. But I'll try to remember for you, just give me a little time to dwell on it, I'm sure it will come back to me. Yeah, we used to deliver hamburger patties there when my father had his meat market( Gold Medal Meats) right there on Garvey and Alhambra Ave right next door from 7-11. Hey also wanted to ask you, do you like Engligh Toffee. Yeah, I make it and it's the BOMB! I will send you some ok.

I remember Britt's. That was one end of the Valley cruise. Also, Pup'n' Taco and of course, Bob's Big Boy at the other end. Now those were the days; The So.Cal. Chevelles, The VanAddicts, the California Camino's; any old-timers out there still remember? If you had a hot car, I probably drew a picture of it. I was cruisin' from '74 to '78.

comment by Henry L. Berdugo "83"

What can you say, Bruins baby, I was at the game, one of the best ones I've been to. I still don't have a voice. Not only did they stop the streak, no SC teams has ever beaten a UCLA team 8 in a row, and the best part is that the Bruins did not LET SC play the BCS championship game, instead we will let you play at the Rose Bowl, try and redeem yourselves SC, try not to lose againt Michigan. Go Bruins!!!!

comment by Henry Macias - 83
