Elaine - we have not received our photos either...would be interested to hear if anyone has. Pobrecita Ave! You are probably still drowning your sorrows. After watching Cal slip by the Stanford Tree 26-17 in cold Memorial Stadium (yes, an embarrassing win), we watched the last quarter and a half of UCLA's victory at my daughter's sorority house. Gotta say that the cheers in the house were about as loud as anything earlier in the day at the stadium when that interception was made. Oh well...the Rose Bowl isn't so bad. Thanks for the fight song Mark and Keri - it was Cal's long before it was UCLA's.
I am excited to reconnect with everyone again. Please make sure you bring those baby pictures-and for most of you GRANDbaby pictures! Boy are we getting to be our partents! I haven't seen anyone in years. I missed my 20th reunion, so Ave, THANK YOU for bringing it back to me. See ya'll in September. BTW, Jim is great. Roger is fabulous and Cheryl is more lovely today, then yesterday. For those who remember, Paula is wonderful, too. Whew, SUCH A LARGE FAMILY. Gretchen, I can't wait to see you.
I had so much fun at the Class of 1985 20 year reunion that I would love to see you all again in September. If you couldn't make it to the last reunion, now's your chance! See you there!
OK..someone down there on this page mentioned "dittos". If anyone has a pair still..for heavens sakes, send me a picture of them. I'm trying to tell my teenaged daughters they were the best pants EVER, and they have no idea what I'm talking about. They looked really good with earth shoes from the old Thom McAn store, and a lt pink cap-sleeved tshirt with an iron-on kitten on it from the Doughboys store on Garvey. Hey..don't forget...my helping hand is still available for the beach party stuff, too. I can help set-up or tear down from the night before. I don't drink..so I won't be hungover. (but that's all subject to change at any time..watch me Malena) Suzi Bohne (MKHS student/part-time ditcher 1979-1981) http://www.myspace.com/tbird8000
" .....are the moments we two can share" never heard of it. LOL and yes, bring me the cd's and i will play them. Hey, you don't happen to have any K-Tel records lying around now would you? LOL
Went to see John Avila last night at The Brass Elephant. He was cookin' as usual, but I had to split early. He's there every Tues. nite.....On another note(pun intended), there's another great musical alumni from '73;Mark Hummel, with his band The Blues Survivors. They'll be at The Ritz-Carlton's bar in Pasadena Oct. 21. If you want to hear some kick-ass blues Harmonica, you will NOT miss this show. For more info on Mark, check out www.markhummel.com. There's always other alumni there.

Class of 2004 Hello everyone it is nice to know that some of us would still be in touch. Believe it or not I didn't know this website existed. I will tell everyone I know from Keppel to check it out.
This is my third try to get this in. Went on the Dance Party Cruise aboard the Angela Louise last Friday night. What a BLAST! I think Capt. Rick gives Alumni discounts, but check with him first. It was a great time. And it ends early enough to still have a nitecap. I'll be going again.
This is great, I can't believe I just found out aabout this website!
WOW!"Age is a gift" is the best thing I have read in a long time. Anything that brings a tear and a smile and makes you say "yes how true" is worth passing along.Thank you Sherri and Kevin.
I just happened to be in MP and cruised down Hellman Ave, well it has finally happened .. MKHS is getting a serious facelift. There will be a NEW gym, a NEW 3 story science & math bldg, and a NEW music bldg. Also the BIG tree in front of the school, on the corner by the driveway into the student parking lot, and that whole corner is GONE....I will try to post some pictures of the new bldgs and the construction.
Does any 1 KNOW WHERE (My) Donna D.Hinojos is????

LOOKING FORWARD IN EXCHANGING STORIES WITH CLASSMATES OF WHAT HAS TAKEN PLACE OVER THE PAST YEARS.
I hope to hear from old friends from Repetto and MKHS. My family will give everyone my best at the reunion, but also, don't be afraid to go up to them. They don't bite anymore! Sorry I can't come down and see everyone. I am looking forward to seeing a lot of pictures tho, so everyone say CHEESE! (This is my second entry, the first had my email wrong, so if you tried to email before and it didn't go thru, go ahead and try again!)
Mike FINALLY bought his ticket so no speedo dance BDJ.......Darn!!
I agree with Bridgette....DARN! The only reason I bought my ticket was so I could see Joey & Mike in that video. We are heartbroken and very very dissapointed. Wheres you Aztec spirit? Wont you two reconsider? Ave we could sell copys of the video as part of our fundraiser-just think of all the money we'll make. lol
Looking forward to seeing you all! Let us all remember those of are family that are no longer with us, and for those who fought over seas, and have children of your own now fighting. Thanks for Serving a gratefull nation!
If it wasn't for my younger brother asking me to look up reunion info we never would have known this web site existed. We had alot of fun looking at pics of classmates and reading about what they've been up to. Thanks and we hope to see you all at the reunion.
.....and might i add Ave that Sapphires has a max. occupancy of only 60. so get there early people or you'll be waiting outside in line waiting for someone to leave and that ain't gonna happen unless someone has to go out to put money in the parking meter. LOL see you all there.
How could everyone not be on a reunion high as it was put. To see so many of your friends after all these years. I t really is like being in school again and hanging out. Everyone looked great and it was just one big room filled with so many emotions. It's good to see alot of friendships rekindled. :-)
In reply to Doug...thank you. Everyone involved in planning the event appreciates your kind words. It's been a struggle to get back to "normal". Lots of e-mails and calls flying...for everyone. And isn't that fun! Reunion planning for a living...hmmmm...would need to commit myself to an institution before I'd take that title on! I enjoy the planning process and the fun of reconnecting with friends from the past. However, anything more than every five years and I'd have to quit my daytime job. Thanks for the compliment though! On another note, I've posted a new page "Homecoming" - and everyone is now able to RSVP for Nov. 3rd. So, see, it's not over yet! We get another chance in the near future to celebrate the amazing job everyone did in not only funding a great reunion, but giving something back to the place we all came from! Hope a lot of you reading this board can attend. Take care all, Ave
Ooops, I goofed...I honestly would say in my heart that I missed thanking my former sister-in-law Mildred Mendez-Hodge who were my guest at the reunion..Also, Mildred is the Alumni for 1975.Since I have known her for 22 years, my thoughts were boggled through the busy week..Then of course, what really impact me is that my conscience was hounding me whenever reunion is discussed... Although, It was not intentionally or for her to be forgotten by me..Hoping I am forgiven by her...Believe it or not guys, she flew from the Caribbean Island(British West Indies) in Anguila of 19 hours flight before the reunion resume. and also, met up with me to be reconnected..In addition of her contributed her gift to me, she reserved a hotel room at the Hilton in Costa Mesa to stay overnite.....I am blessed and thankful for her to sustain as my sister-in-law at heart..She brought her husband and mother for us to be reunited...Sorry, Sis about that.., .. Btw: On the "BIO" Book, if you read Mildred Mendez- Hodge info., I am the one that was mentioned Grace Nunez'82..(I thought it was funny..LOL)..sorry,.S/B Grace Naval'84..alrightee Folks!!! P.s..Whew, finally cleared that in my system..My problem is..too jaazzzz of the reunion... Thank you again in advance for reading my section, Gracie
LOL..... No one was murdered at the store. Irene the owner also had the house that was on the same property. She was a single woman who ran the store with her brother and niece. She just decided one day to close up and retire. She had many, many offers for the store, but she decided to just keep it closed and leave it as is. Yes it was an ice house, we sold the coldest beer in town. Now T.G. & Y.......that was a WHOLE different story.....LOL
I heard the Yorona use to haunt that store.....then she went over and Haunted Tony Valdez and me when we worked at Ole's....
Ave, how about you let the people who still have their ASB or old Keppel ID first in line to the Saphire lounge.
Found out earlier this week that the world famous Mario Escalante '80 use to work at the snack bar at Barnes Park. I managed to get the recipe from him and it will cost you a $19.99 plus shipping and handling for the recipe. With your ASB discount card it comes out to $0.00. or you can send him or myself a friendly e-mail for it.
Hello Everyone.... Hope all had a great Thanksgiving Day. Was wondering if anyone has received their pictures taken at the Reunion. I have yet to receive my pictures and I am not getting any phone calls back from the Photographer... Hoping that I am not the only one with this problem..... Elaine
Dave: You are the BEST! E-mail is on the way now. As for payment, do you take credit cards or is there an installment plan?
Now just about all the tickets are sold. Can Mike Lucero and I be let off the hook for the speedo dance? Even though I have been keeping fit and working on my bulge. The arms and legs that is!
Joey paid for his ticket...so he is off the hook....Mike???? i don't think he bought his ticket and now that we are SOLD OUT!!! dude better find that old school speedo and make sure it fits.... Hector... make sure you have your cam ready!
Martha,Dolores,Amy,Virignia,Olga Diane and Jeanette, It was a blast seeing each one of you at brunch after all these years. I'm glad everyone made it. I enjoyed all the laughter (there was lots of that) the memories, the who's where these days but most of all seeing how we all have grown and where we are in our lives. It was the best. Looking forward to the next one........
WOW 20 days untill the greatest PARTY ever. You are right "BDJ" I hope they are ready for this group, cause this is going to be the best PARTY EVER as well as the BEST REUNION EVER. See you all in 20 DAYS.
Well, the Monterey Park Blues and Jazz Festival was a blast. John has got some amazing friends and even more important, his family. My God!!, his nephews and daughter wailed!! Anybody who didn't make it was/ is a fuddy-duddy. Man oh man, hooked up with even more old friends; some I didn't catch at the reunion; the Nichols sisters, Hector and John Subee who I didn't even remember that I knew. This whole reunion thing has made me realize what a big mistake I've made by never going to any of my regular reunions. There are so many people I wish I would've stayed in contact with. Thanks to all the musicians for giving me a GREAT time. Be talkin' to you.
I love that we are keeping the good times rolling. First the beach party and yesterday the Blues reunion at Barnes Park. Where and what is next? (besides Homecoming game). From the messages it appears that aside from seeing old friends and meeting new ones the music was the big hit of the evening. I think our Alumni band should have a post-reunion jam session!?!?
What a week it's been!!! I have been out every night for the past week with alumni!!! I'm going to go through withdrawal this week! It was great to see so many alumni at the Blues Reunion yesterday!
